About This Item

Based on colors inspired by the artifacts found in the MFA's 1915 excavation of Tomb 10A in Deir el-Bersha, this tie is a subtle and refined way to wear an ancient Egyptian design. The repeating pattern can be seen on governor Djehutynakht's coffin and is believed to represent stylized bunches of lotus blossoms. His coffin is the finest example of funerary art from the Middle Kingdom.
