About This Item

Emily Banis Stoehrer, Frederic A Sharf

This publication explores the life and work of the late sculptor, master ciseleur, and jewelry manufacturer, Louis Feron (1901-1998). With the aid of previously unpublished images, it places the artist amongst the 20th century's elite jewelers and retailers - Cartier, David Webb, Fulco di Verdura, Jean Schlumberger, and Tiffany & Co. - and secures his place in jewelry history. Working in Paris, San Jose, and New York, his extraordinary accomplishments can be found today in private collections, museums, archives, and churches on three continents.

The content of this publication is based largely on the Feron Archive of more than 700 original design drawings that was recently donated to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston by Jean S. and Frederic A. Sharf.
